Survey Highlights
One in five businesses consider quantitative and numerical skills particularly important to them (ranked 5th) and in Finance this number rises to 44% and in Transport to 45%.
Quantitative and numerical skills are in high demand across 17% of industry, but that number more than doubles to 44% in Finance and Insurance.
Over two thirds of businesses expect maths graduates to contribute to innovation and competitive advantage in their industry.
Six in ten companies desire employees with advanced numerical skills and in sectors like Finance, this number is as high as nine in ten.
26% of firms identified a shortage of graduates with advanced numerical skills.
Over a third (36%) of businesses support incentives for students to study degrees with advanced numerical skills.
